  • WCHS Parent and Community Program
    4:30 pm-5:30 pm
    Nov-03-16

    The West Carroll Parent and Community Stakeholder Program will be at West Carroll Jr/Sr High November 3 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. There will be a free hot dog supper for parent/community program participants. All program participants will also receive free tickets to the West Carroll Jr. High basketball game.

    The West Tennessee Quartet Convention Board of Directors will host its 37th Quartet Convention November 4 and 5 at the Carroll County Civic Center.

  • Eastern Star Ham and Bean Day

    Easter Star Chapter will hold their annual Ham and Bean Day at the Masonic Lodge, 20280 East Main St, on November 4. The fundraiser is for the high school scholarship. Ham and beans, cornbread, slaw, desserts, and drinks will be served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. The cost is $6 for adults and $2.50 for children.

  • Fundraiser for Steven Neeley and Becky Baker

    Members of the Huntingdon Fire and Rescue will team up with employees from Cash Savers to grill hamburgers and hotdogs to raise money for Steven Neeley and Becky Baker on November 5. Neeley is battling cancer and Baker has been diagnosed with ALS. The fundraiser will last from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

     

  • Vale Volunteer Fire Dept. Chili Dinner

    Vale Volunteer Fire Department will host their annual chili dinner on November 5 at the Vale Community Center, located at 26165 Highway 114, north of Hollow Rock.     Marlboro Church of Christ will have a gospel meeting November 6-9. Sunday services are at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., and 1:30 p.m., Monday through Wednesday at 7 p.m. The speaker will be David Powell from Jackson.

    Carter’s Chapel United Methodist Church, located five miles from McLemoresville off Terry Road, will its annual Veteran’s Day Program November 6 at 11 a.m. This year’s speaker will be Brigadier General Tommy H. Baker, Assistant Adjutant General, Army, of the Tennessee National Guard. All guests and veterans are invited to attend the program. A meal will be served after the program.

Services for the rest of the week will begin at 7 p.m. Jackie Fincher of Archer’s Chapel in Frog Jump will be the speaker. Everyone is invited to attend.

    West Carroll High School Class of 2017 will hold its Project Gradation Powderpuff Football Game at the West Carroll football field on Friday, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m. Admission is $5 each, and concessions will be available for purchase. Anyone who wants to enjoy the fun is welcome to come out and support the Class of 2017!

    The Carroll County Humane Society will host its annual fundraising Banquet and Silent Auction on Saturday, November 12, 5-8 p.m. at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in McKenzie.  Dinner will be provided by Keisha Hill of Church Street Catering in Waverly and desserts by Patti Hill.

    CCHS is a non-profit organization that has taken in between 900-1,000 dogs and cats so far this year.  They have tremendous operating expenses and depend on your generosity.  Tickets are $25 and on sale at Huntingdon Animal Clinic, Wagging Tails Grooming in McKenzie, and CCHS shelter in McKenzie.

    For information on how to become a banquet sponsor, please email cchstn@gmail.com.  There are four levels of sponsorship starting at $50.  You can also make a centerpiece donation in honor or memory of a person or pet and those are $10 each.

    Hollow Rock Volunteer Fire Department will hold a bingo night November 12 at 6 p.m. at the Hollow Rock Fire Department on Highway 70. Kids play free with an adult. There will be a kids prize table.
