Barbara Jean Higdon, 68, of Bruceton, passed away Friday, Sept. 2, at her residence. Funeral services were held Sunday, Sept. 4, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Plunk Funeral Home of Camden with Mike Melton and David Gargus officiating. Burial followed at Sandy Point Cemetery.
Mrs. Higdon was born Feb. 15, 1948, in Benton County, to the late Granville C. Baker and Mary A. Cooper Baker. She worked for the Bank of Camden for 40 plus years, and was a member of Sandy Point Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Baker and a sister, Reva J. Baker Forrest.
She is survived by her husband, Scotty Higdon; a son, Randel (Jenny) Higdon, of Jackson; a daughter, Ra Sha’ Leigh Higdon, of Hollow Rock; a stepmother, Peggy Baker, three sisters, Diane (Jimmy) Brewer, Pam (Steve) Markham, and Charlene (Mike) Bell, and a sister-in-law, Teresa Baker, all of Camden; and three grandchildren, Hannah and Hunter Higdon, both of Jackson, and Tyler Cook, of Big Sandy.
Pallbearers who served were Tom Cate, Brennan Baker, Steve and Micah Markham, Kevin Brewer and Tim Higdon. Honorary pallbearers were Tyler Cook and Hunter Higdon.
